The first is Grocery-style shopping – Everyone Qualifies, Clients can pick up 1 time per calendar week. All clients are eligible regardless of household income or residence. Second is USDA TEFAP – The Emergency Food Assistance Program, distribution typically starts 2nd week of each month, you must reside within the Pantry region and it’s based on household income. The third is the USDA CSFP – Commodity Supplemental Food Program, distribution begins the second Monday of each month, frequency is 1 package per month, eligibility is that you must be age 60+, based on household income and a Photo ID is required to verify age. Accepts Walk-Ins, CSFP Program, Grocery / Client Choice, Indoor Service, Lifting / Carrying Assistance, TEFAP Program. We offer early sign up to save your spot in line. The early signup sheet is placed on the front of the building, under the carport. The early signup sheet is placed outside no later than 8:30AM on Monday, and 10:30AM on Wednesday. The Pantry opens at 11AM on Monday and 1PM on Wednesday. Parking: Arrive at 7AM or later to the BFL property, no early birds, please park elsewhere until after 7AM. Only use the official BFL early signup sheet – pieces of paper will be thrown away. Write only your name – if you sign other’s names, you will no longer be able to shop at the BFL Pantry. We are a community food pantry serving our brothers and sisters who are in need of food. We serve with love and compassion to express the living word of Christ in our world today. We are located at 7840 John Clayton Memorial Highway in Gloucester, VA. Please drive past the Volunteer parking area, continue around the back of the building and park in the Client parking area up on the hill. From your vehicle, walk to the back of the building and enter through the first pedestrian door on your left. We also have 6 handicap parking spaces located near the back of the building. Bring grocery totes with you. We sometimes have boxes or bags you can use. If you are a new client, come to the Registration Desk and fill out a New Client Registration. Once you register, you will be able to grocery shop the same day. You will be asked to leave the Pantry and will no longer be eligible for the Pantry programs if you participate in: profanity, loud or angry discussions, harassment of any form towards other Clients or Volunteers, bring/carry weapons of any sort, shop-lifting, not wearing shoes, pants, or shirt.
