Household eligibility: Individuals. Intake: Hospital or healthcare-system discharge referral into Los Angeles County Housing for Health recuperative housing; call the facility or Wesley appointment center for current referral instructions. This is not a walk-in shelter.. Eligibility: Experiencing homelessness and recovering from an acute illness or injury that would be worsened by living on the street, in a conventional shelter or another unsuitable place; medically appropriate for short-term residential recovery rather than inpatient hospitalization. Documents: Clinical discharge and referral information as required by Housing for Health and the admitting medical-respite team. Accessibility: Clinically supported residential setting on the MLK medical campus; confirm individual mobility and accommodation needs during referral. Published capacity: HUD 2024 recorded 96 adult-only beds under DHS Interim Housing MLK. Earlier County capital plans described up to 108 recuperative-care beds; the 96-bed HIC figure is retained as inventory-night capacity, not live vacancy.. Waitlist/availability: Professional referral, clinical review and placement according to current bed availability. Meals: County program design includes meals. Showers: Wesley homeless-health services include shower access; confirm site-specific availability during admission. Case management: On-site case management, benefits advocacy, health education and support reaching maximum independence. Housing navigation: Housing navigation and linkage to permanent supportive housing or other community housing options. Medical services: 24/7 nursing care, health oversight and on-site clinical support with referral or transport for specialized outpatient care. Mental-health services: Behavioral-health monitoring and linkage according to individual need. Transportation: County program design includes transportation for needed off-site care and services.
