women’s and children’s emergency walk-up shelter. Serves Women and women with children experiencing homelessness or an emergency housing crisis. Gender/access: Women and children. Age: Women; girls age 17 and younger; boys age 12 and younger. Household eligibility: Women with children accepted; men with children are directed to Family Services. Intake: Walk up for sign-up at 4:00 PM or call for availability. Eligibility: Women and women with eligible-age children; women and families not experiencing homelessness but facing an emergency are directed to Family Services. Documents: Contact shelter for required documents. Published capacity: 36 beds published by the operator and confirmed by the 2024 HUD inventory: three family units, 19 family beds and 17 adult-only beds. Waitlist/availability: Walk-up shelter; call for current availability. Meals: Breakfast and shelter meals provided. Showers: Women’s showers Monday-Friday 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Amazing Grace Chapel, 415 Northeast 1st Avenue. Case management: Enhanced case management. Housing navigation: Housing navigation and housing-program support. Medical services: Health-care connections through case management. Mental-health services: Recovery counseling and service connections. Transportation: Resource referrals. Donations: Financial and in-kind donations accepted through Visalia Rescue Mission. Volunteering: Shelter and meal volunteer opportunities available through Visalia Rescue Mission.
